當距離拉開後，才真正清楚想念的重量。在初次相遇中拚命探尋似層相似之處，用回憶層層覆蓋正在發生的現實。天真的，試圖在離鄉背井之中，透過捏造出的熟悉感，為徬徨無措的心找到安身的方法。

畢業於英國里茲大學，留學經歷在各方面都淺移默化的悄悄侵入田歆的創作之中。像是在繪製一張記憶地圖，畫作之間透露的訊息，是選擇過後的風景轉化，把無法言說的心靈距離最大限度地呈現至畫面之上。

在求學期間，田歆不僅捕捉了許多對她而言新奇的英國風景，也記錄了在歐洲旅行時觸動情感的每個瞬間。儘管這些初次相遇充滿新鮮，卻也同時帶有一種難以言喻的熟悉感。例如，在一片遼闊的草原上遇見一張孤單的長椅，而那張椅子竟與阿嬤家路邊的長椅驚人地相似 — 在那個瞬間，將她拉入個人經驗與公共空間混合的漩渦之中，將私密與公眾神奇地連結起來。

展覽 Mappingg Memories 後花園，邀請觀眾參觀這段留學回憶如何被有意識地改寫。是真實的存在，卻因建立在蔓延的思鄉之上而參雜進個人敘事，把過去疊加於最終也將成為回憶的今天。

During her time studying in the UK, Hsin has not only captured many of the uniquely British sceneries that have felt novel to her, but also has documented emotionally stirring moments while traveling through Europe. Despite the novelty of these unfamiliar first encounters, they often carried an inexplicable sense of familiarity. For instance, encountering a lone bench on a vast, boundless prairie—one that uncannily resembled the one on the path beside her grandmother’s house—could instantly draw her into a whirlpool of personal experiences and public spaces, connecting the intimate to the universal.

This exhibition, Mapping Memories, invite audiences to have a peek of the translation through studying abroad memories chosen by Tien. It truly exists, yet built upon the spreading sense of homesickness, interwoven with personal narrative—layering the past onto a present that will, in time, also become part of the  memory.
